Think husband and wife, your employees, etc. RSS Texting offers that option. To create a group, click the &#8220;Add Person&#8221; icon under the first name, enter the info, and press add. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"365\" src=\"\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-1.png\" alt=\"RSS Texting group text setup screen showing the Add Person button to add recipients\" class=\"wp-image-2462\" srcset=\"\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-1.png 1024w, \/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-1-766x273.png 766w, \/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-1-300x107.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s how it all works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Group texting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A message can go to the main customer plus up to 8 more people. Recipients can be picked from existing contacts by name. Typing a new name and number creates a new contact automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sending again to the same set of people continues the same group thread.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group threads show in the conversation list with their member count. Replies show who sent them, and an incoming group reply triggers the usual notification and sound.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replies to a group appear only in the group thread, not also in the sender&#8217;s 1:1 conversation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group texts can only be sent from a shop&#8217;s US or Canadian local number. Carriers don&#8217;t support group texts from toll-free numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opted-out recipients<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If someone texts STOP, including from inside a group thread, they&#8217;re marked as opted out. Every contact record with that phone number is marked, not just one. Texting START reverses it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In testing, when one member of a group had opted out, the carrier rejected the group message for every member. So the app now blocks the send up front:<br>\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; Send is disabled, with a banner naming who has opted out.<br>\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; A new group can&#8217;t be created with an opted-out member.<br>\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; An opted-out number can&#8217;t be added as a recipient.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A scheduled group message that comes due after a member has opted out isn&#8217;t sent. It&#8217;s marked failed, and the reason shows in the thread.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.repairshopsolutions.com\/about\/resources\/scheduled-messages\/\">Scheduled group messages<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Group messages can be scheduled like 1:1 messages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At send time, a scheduled message isn&#8217;t sent if the main contact is now inactive, the group is no longer active, or a member has opted out. The thread shows it as failed, with the reason.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delivery status<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each group message shows delivery status for each recipient (Sent, Delivered or Failed). A failure for any recipient raises an alert naming that recipient.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attachments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outgoing group attachments are limited to 2 MB each.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incoming images, videos and PDFs are accepted. SVG images are blocked because they can contain scripts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phones and carriers shrink large photos and videos before they&#8217;re sent.
